PRIMARY FUNCTION: Directs and manages overall operations and programs of more than one before-, after-school and summer program with primary concern for program development and implementation, quality, and safety. Additional duties include building and maintaining collaborative relationships with multiple different school district personnel, Club families and membership administration, and promoting/increasing awareness of Club impact to ensure attendance goals are met. Advise and assist site staff in the areas of volunteers, personnel management, safety and quality compliance, and integration of Trauma Informed care practices.
KEY ROLES:
Program Development, Safe Facilities & Assessments
Ensure before- and after-school and summer programs achieve goals outlined in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Formula for Impact and meets grant-funded goals.
Provide leadership and coaching to Unit Directors and Site Coordinators on how to properly manage their Club site. Attends and participates in site-level staff meetings as appropriate.
Train and regularly audit assigned Club sites to identify safety risks and/or issues as well as compliance with state licensing and/or BGCA Membership Requirements. Ensure the Emergency Operation Plan is practiced regularly.
Provide timely and relevant recommendations and assistance in all areas of safety and compliance to COO, including annual review of safety and compliance policies and procedures ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations to include but not limited to ADA, building codes, health regulations, etc.
Ensure an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, with overall responsibility for cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of properties and equipment.
Ensures quality improvement of programs by conducting annual program evaluations, including analysis of member needs and interests.
Ensures the development and implementation of a program planning process for each Club site, including the development of annual program goals and objectives.
Act as a liaison between administration positions and assigned program sites. Keep Unit Directors and Site Coordinators advised of organizational activities and needs, including but not limited to grant report information; financial and budget documentation; media and communications.
Ensure effective implementation of recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coordinating, and retention of staff.
Community Collaboration & Leadership
Collaborates & strengthens relationships with others (e.g., district personnel, parents, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
Develop collaborative partnerships with public, civic groups, and social agencies to foster community initiatives. Represents the organization and interprets its objectives, standards, and programs.
Partner with COO and CFO in monitoring budgets of assigned sites and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate; expenses and revenues are within budget; program fees are collected according to policy; and fiscal policies are followed.
Assist COO with the board-led safety committee objectives in the effective identification and management of risks; continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and processes; provision of updates; and assistance with staff training and development.
Collaborate with local Clubs, other youth serving organizations, and other groups to identify the best practices and standards that inform BGCSCK’s overall child safety model.
Regularly communicate safety messages to staff through newsletters, emails, trainings, and other outlets as authorized.
Additional Responsibilities
Serve as Site Coordinator or Unit Director for sites as needed.
Assists other administrative and program personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of the organization’s work activities.
Stay up to date on safety and compliance trends and best practices for youth and youth serving agencies.
Prioritize conflicting needs; handles matter expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on project to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
Perform special assignments and assist with special projects as directed by your supervisor.
Utilize effective communication skills and professional standards of conflict resolution should arise.
Represent self as a positive, professional, and responsive representative of the BGCSCK.
Routinely recognize accomplishments and outcomes achieved in programs provided.
Positive role model for BGCSCK staff and Club members.

Relationships
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Has contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel. Interacts regularly with the Chief Operating Officer and other staff as assigned.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents, and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or 4 years equivalent experience.
A minimum four (4) years’ work experience in a not-for-profit organization with applicable experience, specifically planning & supervising activities based on developmental needs of young people with an additional two (2) years of experience at the Director level, or equivalent experience.
